Impact Focus was founded in 2020 by Rosie Davenport, a sustainability and communications expert with over 25 years of experience in the food and drink industry. Rosie has collaborated with multinational brands, NGOs, and SMEs to craft effective sustainability and communication strategies, leading high-profile global campaigns that make a difference.
Her expertise is backed by a unique blend of technical sustainability knowledge and extensive industry experience, including leadership roles in corporate communication and journalism. She spent three years in Sydney, managing global communications at publicly-listed winery Australian Vintage, home of McGuigan Wines and a certified B Corp. Rosie’s communication and PR skills are rooted in her 17-year career as a journalist, which included Group Editor of Harpers Wine & Spirit and Drinks Retailing News, Drinks Editor at The Grocer and Features Editor on the Morning Advertiser.
A graduate of Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership and an accredited Sustainability Professional (certified by the Global Reporting Initiative), Rosie is also a B Leader, trained by B Lab to guide companies through the B Corp certification process.
Rosie excels in sustainability planning and using her journalistic background to develop standout communication strategies plus best-in-class impact reports. She ensures that every communication aligns with sound sustainability practices, reinforcing corporate and brand reputation.

Fleur Record-Smith
Sustainability & B Corp Consultant
Fleur is a sustainability consultant with over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She holds an MSc in Sustainability and is well-versed in guiding businesses through the challenges of embedding sustainable practices in their organisations.
As the founder of an award-winning, B Corp-certified hospitality venue and a trained B Leader, Fleur uses her firsthand, practical insights to support aspiring companies on their journey to B Corp accreditation.
Her practical approach helps clients implement results-driven sustainability strategies, including carbon management, environmental impact assessments, and setting net-zero goals. She also supports companies achieve Ecovadis certification and hospitality venues to adopt biodiversity solutions.
A student of Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership, she is known for her ability to clearly communicate complex issues and engage diverse stakeholders. Fleur combines analytical expertise, project management skills, and business acumen to drive meaningful change.
Chipo Mbawu
Social Impact & Ethical Business Consultant
Chipo has a strong background in sustainability development and social impact. She brings an impressive, deep understanding of human rights, environmental due diligence, and stakeholder engagement. Based in Brussels, she spent three years as Project Manager at The Shift, a leading sustainability non-profit, where she guided organisations on ESG compliance, sustainable business strategies, and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Holding both a Master’s and Advanced Master’s in Development Studies, Chipo specialises in multi-stakeholder partnerships, organising high-impact events, roundtables, and workshops to foster collaboration and action on sustainability challenges.
Her experience spans North-South partnerships, gender empowerment initiatives, and corporate sustainability strategy, with a focus on ensuring that businesses align their policies with global human rights and environmental standards. A strategic thinker, she ensures that organisations not only meet compliance requirements but drive tangible, measurable long-term impact.
Kate Sweet
PR & Communications Consultant
Kate is a seasoned communications expert with a deep understanding of the wine industry and a passion for sustainability. During her 30 years in the trade, she has built an impeccable reputation, strong media relationships, and an enviable network of contacts.
Supporting wineries with sustainability at the core of their operations, Kate has developed communication strategies for brands championing organics, biodynamics and regenerative viticulture practices, translating their actions into compelling stories.
She was PR & Events Manager at Brown-Forman Wines for eight years, where she helped establish its European office and played a key role in launching trailblazing sustainably-focused brands Fetzer and Bonterra. Kate has also worked on PR and communications for fellow wine industry pioneers Familia Torres, Taylors/Wakefield, and Pyramid Valley and managed UK media for the Oregon Wine Board and the Washington State Wine Commission.
Other collaborations have included International Wineries for Climate Action and the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation.
As well as securing high-profile press coverage, she has extensive experience organising media events, from large-scale seminars and masterclasses to intimate journalist immersion sessions and one-to-one interviews.
Kate Hempsall
PR & Communications Consultant
A veteran of the brewing and hospitality industries, Kate is an experienced communications strategist with a track record for landing extensive media coverage. She spent 12 years as Head of Communications at Charles Wells and three years as Carlsberg’s Corporate Communications Manager, cementing well-established journalist relationships, brand storytelling, and corporate reputation management.
She has also led successful media campaigns in the no-and low-alcohol sector, including for ERDINGER Alkoholfrei and has worked on impactful industry initiatives with leading association Drinkaware. Other clients have included low-alcohol pioneers Big Drop Brewing and Bemuse alcohol-free meads plus respected family brewer Timothy Taylor’s.
Practical and methodical, Kate ensures brand and campaign objectives are met efficiently and effectively. With an extensive network of media and industry contacts, she knows how to maximise visibility and engagement, landing coverage in consumer and trade media as well as primetime TV and radio.
A member of the British Guild of Beer Writers and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, she is committed to the highest professional standards. Kate is also an industry awards judge, staying at the forefront of best practices and emerging trends.
Lucy Savage-Mountain
Design Lead
Lucy brings more than 24 years’ experience in design and branding to the Impact Focus team. Lucy began her career in the design studio at William Reed Publishing, specialising in food & drink and hospitality publications.
Her work spans high-profile campaigns for major brands, including Wines of California, L’Oréal Professional, and American Express.
Lucy excels at bringing complex sustainability data to life with creative design and infographics, delivering concepts that are both impactful and aligned with company’s corporate visual identity. Her ability to absorb complex brand guidelines and translate them into compelling designs makes her an invaluable asset to our team.
In 2011, Lucy founded her own Brighton-based design agency, Add Tonic, where she continues to support clients across various sectors, including a decade-long relationship with Bill’s restaurant chain. Her expertise in designing company reports and marketing campaigns ensures that every project is executed with precision and creativity, making her an essential partner in our sustainability-focused work.
